@J. Ngonono "Guilt white people"? You make it sound like non-white people aren't worthy enough to star in a major Hollywood movie.
@oluapampa50752 жыл бұрын
@J. NgononoTo be honest with you, I think you're stuck in the 80's or 90's, if you think liberal whites have to be guilt tripped to give non- whites a chance at stardom. Look around you, countries like China are on the rise, you've got India, Japan and South Korea. All these countries are on the rise. They have tech savvy young people. The world has changed, it no longer about America anymore. Even poor countries in Africa and Asia have a rising Middle class and young population that loves technology and want to be seen in media. The so-called "guilt trip" whites understand this and know that they have to cater for other groups if they want to stay relevant. The woke phrase is a misnomer and it has very little to do with non-white people guilt tripping white liberals for film roles.
@oluapampa50752 жыл бұрын
@J. Ngonono Have you ever thought it's the time of the non-whites? Nothing to do with being 'woke' or "guilt tripping" - You've had your time. Its time for minorities to have their time in the limelight. Why do you have to politicise It? You had your time and you still do, why don't you share some of the fame. Why be greedy? The little opportunities and you're already jealous. What's wrong with you people?

@@FanboyFilms I totally agree they are just trying to bastardize snake eyes and make a cash grab! He was white with blonde hair, and if I recall he lost his voice saving scarlet. At least try to resemble some dignity in the character by making it true to the original back story! They at least better show losing his voice at some point in the movie? Probably towards the end. I'm sick of Hollywood doing this shit (making up alternative stories just to make money) they ruined a lot of X-Men movie by making up different stories. You can still make money on movies if you stick to the comics. I'm not saying you completely have to, but damn pretty close to it. Fans will still flock and admire the storyline. The thing is how do you know if you dont try? Marvel is a good example they try to at least stay relevant to the comics, but they still embellish a lot of bullshit in between.

Yeah, doesn't fly in these representation days. People raised a ruckus with the whole Iron Fist show using a white actor for a white role. Not that it matters to much since Iron Fist was a crap show anyways. People have a bad habit of of seeing a martial arts role and thinking it should only be Asians in it. Its the other side of the racism debate. Stereotyping. Not that the White Savior trope is a better way to go. Maybe they could have had at least someone different race, like Latino or Black. Part of Snake Eyes' story is that he had problems with acceptance because of racism in the clan and that he wasn't of the heritage.

I remember the comic version, he had trained since a boy, and the ninja master was training him how to use his hearing to determine who he was emulating while walking, but although it seemed familiar he couldn’t quite place it, then the master was suddenly killed by an arrow I think and he somehow figured out the master was walking like him. And it was the white ninja from Cobra who he’d grown up with, he to was listening and had intended to kill snake eyes and because the master was emulating his walk he killed him by mistake. It was a great comic from what I remember.
@failedgrace28912 жыл бұрын
If you're talking about the original Marvel comic then you're close. In it Snake Eyes returns from Vietnam to find out his family was killed in an auto accident by a drunk driver on the way to pick him up. Hawk was the one to inform him of their deaths. Snake Eyes went into a depression because of this and was invited by his best friend whom he served with to come live with his family. This was Stormshadow, the white ninja from Cobra. There Stormshadow and his uncles taught Snake Eyes the family business. Snake Eyes proved to be the better swordsman while Stormshadow was the superior archer, he used a technique that allowed him to aim at targets behind covered by sound. I believe there was a slight rift between the two as it appeared the uncle's favored Snake Eyes over Stormshadow. One of the uncle's was displaying a technique in which he could perfectly mimic the sound of Snake Eyes, down to the heartbeat, when an arrow with the personal mark of Stormshadow pierced a wall killing him. In reality it was Zartan who copied Stormshadow's technique using a high power microphone and was fooled by the uncle as Snake Eyes was the target. Zartan was under the orders of Cobra Commander who wanted Snake Eyes dead as revenge for his brother's death. His brother was the one who caused the auto accident that killed both Snake Eyes' family and him. My understanding is some of this was revamped in future series and the live action movies said he was raised as a child in Stormshadow`s clan. For the most part that original run was really good with some admittedly hokey bits sprinkled about.

In the G.I. Joe comic books, he was invincible. On three occasions, he single-handedly wiped out entire Cobra bases without a scratch. There were other cases of him doing the same against other armies. Nobody was on his level. He surpassed all of his clansmen: the Soft Master, the Blind Master, the Hard Master, Storm Shadow...all of them combined.

The movie looks fine... Well, we never know, trailers are mischievous. But, Sneak-Eyes never shows his face.

Is this a reboot? Because didn’t he already have a code of silence when he was like a kid? And wasn’t he white in the GI Joe films during his flashback origin scenes????

Its a cash grab
@dineshbfaces2 жыл бұрын
The code of silence was something the movie came up with. The comics snakeyes was someone who lost his voice in an accident but saving Scarlett
@bubuqq99882 жыл бұрын
Yes if this is meant to be the origin story of the snake eye we know in GI Joe, how stupid they are for not keeping him white.
@spiderghost69402 жыл бұрын
@Necro Fell No its not he's supposed to be a US Army Ranger already. An where's Stalker? An his Parents An sister are supposed to die in a car wreck.

They shouldn't have recast Lee Byung-hun as storm shadow. Excited for the movie though.

Probably would have been confusing for some people to have the actor carry over into this reboot

hold on, didn't Snake Eyes made a Vow of Silence when he was young?
@FitPatton2 жыл бұрын
@Necro Fell If Snake Eyes was made in 90s, Robert Joy's character and look from Land of the Dead (2005) would be a perfect fit. He's no pretty boy at all but a true low key badass. He only needs to learn the way of the ninja.
@RedRaikou2 жыл бұрын
Although Snake eyes is the only character that pulled my attention in G.i. Joe, correct if I'm wrong but isn't Snake eyes mute and raised since young by that temple?
@Skulltones2 жыл бұрын
He was never mute. But apparently his face was so scarred he took a vow of silence.. personally I'd rather the vow of silence from the movie after Storm Shadow killed their master.

Snake-Eyes went beyond Ninja I mean look at his suit and his mask, why do they call him Snake-Eyes because he was named after a serpent by his master,
